Some Leeds fans are over the moon after hearing Liam Cooper’s comments about Marcelo Bielsa’s future at Leeds United.
The club captain dropped a massive hint that Bielsa will be signing a new deal at the club, saying:
“I’m totally confident Marcelo will stay. No doubt at all. He loves the boys, we all want him to stay and I’m sure he will. He loves the club, he loves the city, he loves the people and he loves it here.”
As you can imagine, these comments sent the Leeds fanbase into a bit of a frenzy.
Bielsa has only ever signed one-year deals at Leeds, so every summer there’s a bit of anxiety around whether or not he’ll remain at the club.
Fortunately, it seems as though Cooper thinks he’ll be staying, and while that isn’t confirmation, you’d have to think that the club captain wouldn’t say such a thing unless he was very confident.
