West Ham United fans have reacted to Jurgen Klopp’s comments about rumoured Liverpool target Jarrod Bowen.
The Athletic have reported that Liverpool are admirers of the West Ham speedster and are considering signing him.
Ahead of Liverpool’s clash against West Ham on Sunday afternoon, Klopp spoke about the 24-year-old and how he appreciates the player.
The German boss stated that he likes Bowen ‘a lot’, which, from West Ham fans’ perspective, doesn’t help matters given the rumoured interest.
Klopp added, as he told the Liverpool Echo: “You watch them and it’s fun. They are a high-intensity team. They have top strikers.
“I like Bowen a lot. He made his way up from Hull and showed the Premier League what kind of player he is.”
Understandably, West Ham fans aren’t too keen on Klopp being so complimentary of Bowen because of those links and have made it clear that they should stay away from him.
But there will also be the worry that if the Merseyside giants do come knocking, then it will be difficult to stop him from leaving.
One thing is for sure, if the unwanted scenario does happen, then the Hammers should and will, more than likely, slap a heavy price tag on his head.
And given that the Reds don’t spend in a crazy fashion like Manchester United or Manchester City, then that might help their cause in keeping him at the club.
But it also needs to be remembered that David Moyes’ side have a huge chance of securing Champions League football this season.
And respect needs to be put on their name because ten games in and they are in the title-race – they move above today’s opponents if they beat them at the London Stadium in a few hours time.
