Steven Pressley has claimed that he was ‘really impressed’ by John Lundstram’s performance as Rangers beat Celtic 2-1 in the Scottish Cup semi-final on Sunday, as he told Sky Sports News.
The former Gers defender thinks that type of performance will ‘endear’ Lundstram to the Rangers fans.
Whilst the 28-year-old didn’t get on the scoresheet at Hampden, he was a constant threat in the middle of the park and perhaps the Man of the Match.
Even though Celtic opened the scoring through Greg Taylor’s near-post finish, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men fought back to secure the all-important win in extra time.
Nonetheless, this is what Pressley had to say about Lundstram and how he ‘imposed his physicality’ on the game.
“Lundstram, who has really impressed me today,” said Pressley. “He has really imposed his physicality on the game.
“I am sure this type of performance will endear himself to the Rangers supporters.”

Celtic’s recent Premiership wins against Rangers wouldn’t have done down well in the Ibrox camp.
So, losing another here would have been even more damaging for someone like Van Bronckhorst.
But he can finally taste that win as a manager, especially after their gruelling Europa League win in extra time against Braga.
That’s the impressive part of it all that the Rangers players didn’t look dead on their feet in extra time, even though they had endured such a difficult night on Thursday.
