Garth Crooks has written on BBC Sport that Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah did not have a good game against Brentford this past weekend.

The former Tottenham Hotspur forward has included Salah in his Premier League Team of the Week for BBC Sport.

However, Crooks believes that the 29-year-old did not have a good game for Liverpool despite scoring.

The former Chelsea attacker scored in the 54th minute to help the Reds to a 3-3 draw.

It was Salah’s 100th Premier League goal for Liverpool.

Crooks wrote about Salah on BBC Sport: “I’m almost irritated by my own selection. By Salah’s standards, this was a poor performance from the Egyptian superstar.

“He probably scored the easiest chance of the match. However it’s very difficult to ignore a player who has scored 100 Premier League goals faster than any other Liverpool player in their history.

“It’s a magnificent achievement even if the performance against Brentford wasn’t one of his best.”

Is Garth Crooks right?

Salah could have added to his tally, but it is harsh to say that the Liverpool star did not play well.

Forwards do miss chances, and Salah is no different.

The 29-year-old had an effort cleared off the line, and there was another occasion when he should have scored with ease.

However, we cannot say that it was a poor performance by Salah’s standards.

Salah consistently scores goals, and Liverpool are a better and more potent team because of it.

We cannot expect the Egyptian to bang in a hat-trick in each and every game.

Salah has now scored 102 goals in 164 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
