The Boston Celtics have taken the NBA by storm so far this season.

The Boston Celtics were heavily overlooked coming into the 2025-26 NBA season because of Jayson Tatum’s Achilles injury.

Many had the Celtics taking a massive step back and being in the play-in picture or even in the lottery.

However, the Celtics have been competitive and they are currently enjoying their best stretch of the season. They have won 5 games in a row and sit in 3rd place in the Eastern Conference.

This player deserves a lot of credit for the Boston Celtics’ success

Jaylen Brown has had the best season of his career and has stepped up as the Celtics No. 1 option with Tatum out.

Payton Pritchard has had some big games this season and Derrick White continues to be the steady hand for the Celtics.

Another player who has been a huge part of the Celtics’ rise in the East standings is Jordan Walsh.

The Celtics are 10-2 with Walsh in the starting lineup and his defense has caused havoc for other teams’ stars.

Walsh has kept some of the best players in the game this season in check. He is coming off holding Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes to just 1-for-3 shooting.

The Boston Celtics could win the East

Virtually no one predicted the Celtics to win the East this season as this was widely viewed as their gap year.

However, the Celtics have proven they can beat the top teams in the East and are in the top 3 of the conference right now.

If the Celtics are able to add another big man ahead of the trade deadline and Jayson Tatum comes back sometime before the playoffs, there’s a realistic path for the Celtics to make an NBA Finals run.

This would be something spectacular if the Celtics were able to win the East after being written off coming into the season.
