Tottenham Hotspur fans were not best pleased to learn that Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has now scored more goals than them this season.
Salah on fire
Tottenham have mustered up nine goals in the Premier League in nine games so far this term.
Salah, meanwhile, has already reached double figures for the campaign for Liverpool – after netting a hat-trick in their 5-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday.
His third goal at Old Trafford meant that he has now overtaken Tottenham in the goalscoring charts this season.
It is a rather damning statistic for Spurs, even if Salah has started the season in wonderful form.
And Tottenham fans were left in shock at the stat, after it emerged on social media yesterday.
Should Spurs be doing better?
Stats like these only serve to heap further pressure on Nuno to produce more attacking football at Spurs.
It is not like Tottenham don’t have the attacking quality to be performing better – they have world-class players in Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son.
However, under Nuno they have shown very little in the way of attacking invention.
Spurs are still hovering just outside the top four, but their performances have often been below the expected standard, and a defeat to Manchester United this weekend would be disastrous for Nuno.
