Following Moussa Dembele’s Celtic arrival, could Rodgers bring more free agents to Parkhead?
Rodgers has shed several from his ranks so far
Finances in Scottish football aren’t what they used to be and even the champions are looking to take advantage of transfer window bargains.
On Wednesday, Celtic pulled off a particular coup by landing reported Premier League target Moussa Dembele at the end of his Fulham contract (though Dembele is set to cost around £350,000 in compensation, he is technically a free agent).
Demebele became the Bhoys’ first summer signing this week
Earlier in the window, the Bhoys were linked with a move for Wales’ former Reading star Hal Robson-Kanu, who also finds himself a free agent this summer.
And if Brendan Rodgers was aware of both of those, then another Championship star – he too available for nothing – is sure to have crossed his mind.
Celtic’s links to Robson-Kanu suggest they’re in the market for a new winger, and Queens Park Rangers star Junior Hoilett is right up their street.

As well as being free, the Canadian is still only 26, can play on either flank and boasts five years Premier League experience.
Meanwhile, his six goals from 29 Championship matches last term are impressive for a wide man.
Reports that Hoilett was close to joining Swansea City (Bleacher) have gone cold, and with an offer from QPR still on the table, Celtic should make their move.
