Juan Mata has had his say on Manchester United’s festive fixtures.
Manchester United play-maker Juan Mata has posted his latest blog post following the club’s 0-0 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.
The Spaniard looked back on a fine 2014, in which time he featured 32 times and scored 12 goals, and he is hopeful of getting even better in the new year.
Having hailed United’s performance in their 3-1 win against Newcastle United on Boxing Day, Mata added, “In White Hart Lane, we created enough chances to win again but we were not very accurate so we added only one point.
“I think the team’s performance in the first half must be the example to follow.”
United certainly performed well prior to the break on Sunday, creating a number of good chances they will regret spurning.
It appears Louis van Gaal’s front-four of Mata, Radamel Falcao, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie are now very comfortable playing together and know how to get the best out of each other.
But on Sunday they came up against a goalkeeper in Hugo Lloris who simply refused to be beaten.
