Newcastle United have been linked with another player and it’s fair to say he isn’t quite as A-list as some of their other reported targets.

According to HMetro, Newcastle have made an offer to sign Malaysian wonderkid Luqman Hakim.

The report adds that the 18-year-old is considering the proposal.

The St James’s Park club have been linked to quite a few blockbuster players in recent months, such as Philippe Coutinho, Gareth Bale and going back further, Edinson Cavani.

Here’s how Magpies fans reacted to this rumour about Hakim:

Many more Newcastle supporters might be a bit underwhelmed at the idea of signing him, but there’s genuine hype there.

The Guardian placed him among 60 of the world’s best teenagers for 2019, underlining his promise.

And if this £300 million takeover of Newcastle ever goes through, the player might jump at the chance to be part of such a project.
