Stephen Warnock has claimed that he would ‘love’ to have the Crystal Palace flyer, Eberechi Eze, sign for Liverpool, as he told the Football Show on Sky Sports.

Wilfried Zaha may well be the main man at Palace, but Warnock thinks Eze has something ‘special’ about him and he is a player that you would ‘hate to play against’.

From Liverpool’s perspective, needing another attack-minded player isn’t top of their priorities ahead of transfer deadline day.

Those at Anfield are pretty desperate and fighting against time to bulk up their midfield because of injuries and their indifferent start to the new Premier League season.

Yes, Eze has the ability to play in the middle of the park, including a number eight role, but he is far more attack-minded for what Liverpool are looking at right now.

Either way, former Reds defender Warnock shares what he likes about the 24-year-old and how he would like to see him on Merseyside one day.

“The sky is the limit for him, it absolutely is,” said Warnock. “I watched him a couple of weeks ago against Liverpool and I thought ‘this kid is special’.

“I liked him when he first came in at Palace. We feared when he picked up that Achilles injury. For someone who is so dynamic. Will he get that pace back again?

“You look at him and you wouldn’t even think he had the injury. Every time he gets on the ball. His ability to step away from players and drive past players. He’s such a good player to watch.

“I would love him at Liverpool. I honestly would. The type of player he is, so dynamic and tough to play against. I would hate to play against him.”

AN ENGLAND CALL BECKONING FOR EZE?

A number of weeks ago, Palace secured a 1-1 draw at Anfield, with Eze being a standout performer for his side against the Premier League title contenders.

It was Eze’s quick feet and brilliant through ball that allowed Zaha to burst through on goal and open the scoring for his side.

He has started the new Premier League season in an outstanding fashion and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t become an England international sooner rather than later.

Could that call become before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar? The attacking areas are stacked for Gareth Southgate, but Eze is one of the form players right now.
