The potential for new signings has been carrying Tottenham Hotspur supporters these past couple of weeks.

It’s been a difficult time of it for the Lilywhites, who have been hit with a covid outbreak that has derailed their Europa Conference League campaign and seen a Premier League outing postponed already.

But with January on the horizon, Spurs supporters will be hoping to see Antonio Conte put his own stamp on the squad, after he took over from Nuno Espirito Santo in November.

However, according to one journalist, there’s even more bad news looming.

Alasdair Gold, who exclusively covers Tottenham for Football London, revealed on you YouTube channel that the club won’t have a lofty budget to buy players with next month.

Investment could be massive

He said: “I was told that there is not huge amounts of money to spend this January.”

Honestly, if you’re a Tottenham, you want to see Fabio Paratici and Conte spending.

Not necessarily huge amounts, but signing the right players could give the North Londoners a huge chance of getting back into the Champions League come May.

Even without investment, Tottenham are going in the right direction under the no-nonsense Italian manager, whose players are seventh in the Premier League standings.

Conte’s troops are three points adrift of fourth-placed West Ham United but, crucially, Spurs also have two matches in hand.

Getting into the top four is very possible under a manager like this, but a lot more probable if he and Paratici were permitted to invest in January.
