Jason Cundy says Martin Odegaard will now want a new contract at Arsenal, after Bukayo Saka secured a big-money deal on Tuesday.
When Bukayo Saka put pen-to-paper on a new Arsenal contract, transfer target Declan Rice reacted to the deal and he was delighted by the news.
But Cundy now thinks the man donning the Arsenal’s armband, Martin Odegaard, will now want a piece of the action and he will feel his contract should also be ‘improved’, as he told talkSPORT.

Both players have been outstanding this season, hitting double figures in both goals and assists, as well as pushing for the Premier League title.
From Odegaard’s long-range effort in the north London derby to that stunning opener at St James’ Park, this has been the best season of the 24-year-old’s career.
His current contract runs down out in 2025 and Cundy thinks, after this Saka news, he will be knocking on that door now as well.
“I think it’s a sound investment, from Arsenal’s point of view,” said Cundy. “If he wasn’t worth it, you would think Arsenal wouldn’t give it to him. But clearly, he is worth it.
“The issue that will be there is that Odegaard will be looking and going, ‘okay, I am seeing what you are doing there. I am the skipper of this team. We have had a fabulous season. I would like a new and improved offer’, so that’s where it might be.”

ODEGAARD DESERVES A NEW CONTRACT
Yes, Arsenal might have missed out on winning the Premier League title and their collapse during these last few weeks will hurt the fans.
But it shouldn’t hide the outstanding performances someone like Odegaard has been in for months upon end.
Just like Saka, it’s high time their creator in the middle of the park is rewarded with a new deal also because he deserves it and it keeps any interested parties away.
