Jamie O’Hara on Twitter has blasted the actions of Dani Ceballos and Eddie Nketiah before Arsenal’s thumping win at Fulham on Saturday and stated ‘this isn’t passion’.
Both players squared up during the warm-up at Craven Cottage, and after some pushing and shoving, they had to be separated by the coaching staff.
Mikel Arteta opted to start both players on the bench against the newly-promoted side despite the attack-minded duo earning a lot of starts after football restarted back in June.
Whilst some may see it as passion, former Spurs midfielder, O’Hara, saw it differently and he made his feelings clear about the matter.
In truth, it should be seen as a positive from Arsenal’s perspective because both players are clearly passionate for the cause.
If they are getting the hump because they didn’t start the first Premier League game of the season then it’s good to see that they care and are clearly annoyed that they weren’t selected from the off.
There’s no doubt that Arteta has changed the mindset in North London ever since he arrived back in December and it’s a big reason as to why they have lifted the FA Cup and the Community Shield.
Arsenal’s record transfer deals
- Nicolas Pepe
£72 million
- Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
£56 million
- Alexandre Lacazette
£52 million
- Thomas Partey
45 million
- Mesut Ozil
£42 million
So, as long as things don’t cross the line, more of the same mindset will only help Arsenal get back to the top.
And, at this moment in time, the results, performances and mood around the North London camp is proving that.
