Some Arsenal fans are beginning to fear the worst about Folarin Balogun’s future in North London.
A number of Gunners supporters thought that his omission from Friday’s Under-23 game was an indication that Mikel Arteta would include him in his squad for this evening’s clash against Manchester City.
Thing is, the 19-year-old hitman was nowhere to be seen in Arteta’s training session at London Colney on Saturday and things aren’t looking good.
That’s because Balogun has been heavily linked with a move away from Arsenal and with his contract expiring this summer, it’s a race against time for the Emriates Stadium side to tie him down.
The Spanish manager – who labelled him ‘incredible’ in January – has repeatedly voiced his confidence that Balogun would indeed sign a new deal to stay at the club, but 74 minutes of senior football this season hasn’t helped the club’s cause.

Balogun, who scored two Europa League goals during the group stages, is a major talent and he’s only going to get better, but it does increasingly likely that he won’t be fulfilling that potential at Arsenal.
