
Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media have been reacting after it was reported that the club were looking for £40m for Harry Winks this summer.
The midfielder isn’t one of the first names on the teamsheet at Tottenham, and while he is an England international, it’s not all that surprising to hear that no team wanted to take a punt on him at that price.
£40m is massive money for a rather unspectacular player, and in all honesty, Winks is surplus to requirements at Spurs these days.
Of course, it’s good to see that Spurs want to get the best price possible for their players, but fans were flabbergasted that the club wanted so much for Winks.
Realistically, Tottenham were never going to get such a price for the midfielder, and fans believe that it’s decisions like this that are holding the club back in the transfer market – once again pointing the finger, rightly or wrongly, at Daniel Levy.
