West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to react after hearing what Aston Villa’s John McGinn said about their performance in the Midlands on Wednesday.
Speaking after full-time, the Scotland international said that he didn’t think there was much between the two sides at Villa Park.
However, the £2 million man also said that the Hammers ‘came here for a point’ – a comment which has sparked a reaction from the West Ham fans.
In truth, we’re not sure how McGinn can say that with a straight face.
WhoScored shows that David Moyes’ side recorded 20 shots against Dean Smith’s men, whereas the Villans only mustered up nine efforts.

Additionally, West Ham got ten of those shots on target, while Villa only had two shots on target.
To be honest, McGinn’s comments don’t make much sense.
After all, if a team sets up for a point against you, but ends up winning 3-1, doesn’t that reflect more poorly on you than it does on them?

The Irons were brilliant on Wednesday, and it’s a shame to see the Scot play down the quality of Villa’s opponents.
The 26-year-old’s post-match thoughts seemed pretty reactionary, and they have certainly caught the attention of West Ham’s fanbase.
Let’s see what some of them have been saying about McGinn’s comments…
