Jalen Brunson’s message after winning the NBA title with the Knicks sounded less like a victory speech and more like a letter of gratitude to the city that changed his career.
He did not just thank the fans. He spoke directly to them, acknowledging their belief in him long before the rest of the league fully caught on.
Four years later, that belief ended with a banner.
Jalen Brunson sends heartfelt Knicks LinkedIn message
In a post shared on his LinkedIn, Brunson addressed Knicks fans after leading New York to its first NBA championship since 1973.
“Winning an NBA Championship with the New York Knicks is everything I ever dreamed of. The fans, the city, this organization… This is why I came to New York. I’m so proud of this team. No matter the situation, we never stopped believing in each other or lost sight of our goal.”
He added another line that felt made for a fanbase that waited 53 years.
“Thank you, New York. I am forever grateful. And always remember…The Magic is in the Work.”
The rest of Brunson’s post continued in the same tone. He spoke about belief, preparation, and giving back through his Second Round Foundation, which supports under-resourced and underrepresented young people.
Jalen Brunson’s free agency gamble became Knicks history

Brunson’s 2022 move from Dallas to New York is now seen as one of the most significant decisions of the modern NBA era. What was once criticized as an overpay is now a settled argument after Charles Barkley called Brunson the greatest free-agent signing in league history and Shaquille O’Neal admitted he was wrong.
The numbers tell the story. Brunson averaged 24.0 points in his first year with the Knicks and led them to the second round in 2023. The following season, he jumped to 28.7 points per game, became an All-Star, and carried an injury-hit team through another seven-game playoff series.
New York kept building around him, and Brunson kept proving them right. He remained the offensive engine through another strong season, then entered 2025-26 with the credibility of a franchise player and the responsibility of turning promise into a title.
In the Finals against San Antonio, he put up 32.6 points, 4.6 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game, capped off by a 45-point performance in the title-clinching Game 5. Brunson was named Finals MVP, completing a journey from a doubted signing to a Knicks legend.
That is why his message resonated. Brunson did not just come to New York for a contract. He came for everything that followed.
