Some Liverpool fans on Twitter are excited by the club finally unveiling Ibrahima Konate.
The Reds snapped up Konate in a £36 million deal from Red Bull Leipzig in May.
But with the player gearing up to compete for France in an Under-21 European Championship at the time, there wasn’t an opportunity to officially unveil him in next season’s shirt.
That being said, Liverpool have now treated their fans to images of Konate wearing the club’s new kit.
And here’s how some of those supporters reacted on Twitter:
Depth
It’s funny how Liverpool’s centre-back situation can go from horrible to supreme so quickly.
That’s because with Konate on board, and Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip likely to be fit by the start of next season, Jurgen Klopp suddenly has plenty of defensive options, whereas last season it was slim pickens.
But Liverpool still had problems at the other end last term.
Yes, Mo Salah scored 30 goals, but Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino only bagged 25 between them in all competitions, which is a poor return for the duo.
Konate adds a hell of a lot of depth to Klopp’s squad, but much more is needed before the German manager can realistically reclaim the Premier League title from Manchester City.
