Fenerbahce supporters are pretty thrilled that they are edging closer to signing Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil.
Whilst Ozil posts Twitter messages of him heading to Turkey and holding a Fenerbahce scarf, he is yet to officially sign because a medical and putting actual pen-to-paper is yet to be completed.
But over seven years after leaving Real Madrid for Arsenal in £42 million deal [BBC Sport], the Ozil story is nearing its end in North London, and it’s been an eventful one.
Whilst Arsenal fans are divided about the left-footed magician, he is going to be welcomed with open arms from those in Istanbul.
The Fenerbahce supporters are over the moon that ‘the king’ is going to sign for their club and write another chapter into his drama-filled and trophy-laden book.
It will be interesting to see how Ozil fares in Turkey’s top-flight because he is dropping down a significant level in quality even though he is still playing in the top-tier.
What legacy Ozil has left at Arsenal remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure, the Fenerbahce fans are waiting for him to work his magic for them.
