Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter to Premier League clubs demanding an emergency meeting regarding the takeover of Newcastle United.
Sky Sports have reported that there have been a series of complaints regarding a Saudi-led group taking ownership of the North East club.
Liverpool fans have defended Newcastle now being owned by the richest owners in world football, despite those cries from others.
Some have even pointed towards the recent actions from the top-six, where they tried to form their own Super League.
After a huge backlash, it didn’t last long and it was all eventually flushed down the toilet.
Well, certainly from those teams in the Premier League.
Not only that, some Liverpool fans have even reminded a certain Premier League duo – Chelsea and Man City – as to how they have got to the top.
If it wasn’t for the big-money investments at their clubs, then Chelsea wouldn’t have the European Cups in their cabinet and Man City wouldn’t have all the recent trophies they have won.
So, if other teams can go down that road then there is no reason why Newcastle aren’t allowed either.
Even though they won’t be a threat straightaway, or even next season, in years to come, they will be locking to lock horns with those teams.
