Everton have announced on their official website that their skipper Seamus Coleman has suffered an injury while on international duty with Ireland.
The hectic schedule both at club level and with the international games is taking its toll on the players. Numerous clubs across the globe have already lost some of their key stars and, if this continues, others will face a spell on the sidelines.
Coleman, 32, is not physically at his best level. The Irishman has had his problems over the years, but he has managed to overcome it time and again to perform for the Toffees to the best of his abilities.
The Everton skipper already had an issue this season. He missed the Premier League games against Newcastle and Southampton after he suffered a hamstring injury in the derby against Liverpool last month.
He returned to the XI and played the full 90 minutes against Manchester United just before the break. But he has now suffered another problem that could keep him away from the action for some time.
It is claimed that Coleman suffered the injury in training with his national team on Wednesday. He subsequently missed the game against England on Thursday, and he is expected to return to Finch Farm next week to be assessed.

The nature of the injury has not been revealed by the Toffees yet, but it does not look good. Everton fans, predictably were angered by the news.
Some claimed the club should have never allowed him to leave, while others have urged Carlo Ancelotti to look for a new right-back in the January transfer window.
