Arsenal fans have been left saddened by reports that Ainsley Maitland-Niles could leave the club in the coming days.
David Ornstein of the Athletic has claimed that Arsenal may well loan out Maitland-Niles, as he searches for more regular game time.
The England international just hasn’t been able to break into Mikel Arteta’s side on a consistent basis, and interest is now building in him.
Both West Bromwich Albion and a top four side are said to be keen to snap up the 23-year-old.
And many Arsenal fans are of the opinion that he should have been more valued by Arteta.
Arteta has consistently spoken about Maitland-Niles’s apparent need to show more desire in training, so the move could be down to attitude rather than ability.
If Arsenal do let Maitland-Niles go it does seem that they will be taking a risk, though.
Arsenal are not exactly well stocked at left-back, and Maitland-Niles’ departure would reduce their options even further in that position, if Kieran Tierney was to pick up an injury.
