Manchester United fans have suggested that they’re hoping that Tottenham Hotspur do sign Jesse Lingard from them.
The Times suggest that Tottenham view Lingard as a potential replacement for Dele Alli, if he is sold this summer.
Alli seems to have fallen out of favour with Jose Mourinho, leading to speculation that he could depart.
And United fans suggest that they would not be at all disappointed to see Lingard leave.
Lingard has not been productive at United for well over a year now, and there is a feeling that his days at Old Trafford are now numbered.
If he was to move to Spurs he would offer them energy and exuberance, but technically he is certainly a downgrade on Alli.
Alli is also far more of a goal threat than Lingard, so Mourinho would have to consider whether a move for the England international would be worthwhile.
If Lingard was to move to Tottenham he would be in competition with the likes of Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele for a first-team place.
