Chelsea fans on Twitter were left stunned after a report emerged that Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang wanted to leave Arsenal for their London rivals in January.

The Daily Mail has claimed that a deal didn’t happen because the Arsenal man’s high wages could not be met by the Stamford Bridge club.

For some, this would be a coincidence that this transfer rumour emerged before Arsenal and Chelsea clashed in their FA Cup final showdown on Saturday – Aubameyang’s brace helped his team lift the trophy.

Either the Gabon striker pens down a new contract, he ends up leaving on a free next summer, or Arsenal cash-in on their man during this current transfer window.

But the rumours that Chelsea seemingly came in for him is of a surprise, which has no doubt divided opinion.
