Some Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the increased investment from the San Francisco 49ers group.
It emerged on Friday that the American group has yet again increased their investment into the club.
The 49ers Enterprises purchased 15% of the West Yorkshire club from chairman Andrea Radrizzani in 2018, before purchasing a bigger stake in early 2021.
Led by Paraag Marathe, Leeds’ vice-chairman, the 49ers now own 44 per cent of the club, and while Andrea Radrizzani is still the majority shareholder, his stake in the club is seemingly ever-decreasing.
As you can imagine, Leeds fans were excited about this boardroom shake-up behind the scenes. The 49ers are worth over $4bn and they could bring big investment to the club.
Leeds look set to grow in stature over the next few years. Angus Kinnear announced plans to increase the capacity of Elland Road back in 2019, and a few more years in the Premier League will undoubtedly increase their profile.
