Of all Leeds United’s poor signings, Edgar Cani is surely near the top of the list, after the Albanian’s ill-fated loan spell at Elland Road in 2015.
The striker signed in a temporary move from Italian club Catania but ultimately made only four appearances for the Whites, failing to find the net in a disappointing chapter in the journeyman’s career.

After leaving Leeds, Cani headed back to Catania only to leave permanently shortly after, agreeing a deal with Italian third division side Pisa.
In his first season he featured 32 times in all competitions, scoring six goals and providing two assists in the process.
Things started in somewhat bizarre fashion, with Cani scoring in only his second game for Pisa before being sent off in the 90th minute, but by the end of the campaign he had played his bit in helping the side earn promotion to Serie B.
This season, the former Leeds loanee has made seven appearances to date, but he is yet to find the net, his only contribution of note the assist he managed in a 2-1 victory against Ascoli late last month.
Never the most prolific of players, Cani’s ongoing struggles in front of goal means his move to Leeds is no less baffling nearly two years on.
