Sheffield United fans are delighted that Robin Olsen is seemingly close to joining Aston Villa on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Steven Gerrard has already brought in two high profile players during the January transfer window in Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Digne.
But it now seems as though Villa are going to bring in a third, with the lesser-known Roma keeper, Olsen, as reported by transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano.
Olsen was on-loan at Sheffield United from Villa this season and the Sweden international will now swap Yorkshire for the Midlands via Rome.
Aston Villa, Sheffield United and goalkeepers, if you know, well, you know. There is history there, that’s for sure.
But whilst Ørjan Nyland used to warm Villa’s bench before as their back-up keeper, as well as being number one for a time being.
That’s now the turn of Olsen, who will play second fiddle to Villa’s undisputed number one, Emiliano Martinez.
Judging by the reaction of the Sheffield United fans, they aren’t too bothered that Olsen will be leaving because he didn’t seemingly light it up at Bramall Lane.
But those at Villa Park can only judge Olsen by what he does in their colours, that’s if he gets game time because only injury or suspension will see him earn minutes in the Premier League.
