Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react after Tim Sherwood aimed a backhanded compliment in their direction.
Speaking on Optus Sport’s Matchday Extra on Sunday, the 52-year-old said that Leeds should’ve been relegated with the quality of squad they have.
However, he said that the way Marcelo Bielsa’s players approach the game means they were unlikely to ever go down.
Sherwood said: “Should they have been relegated? With the squad they have they should, but not in the way they approach it. What’s their edge? Bielsa demands they are the fittest, they run the furthest – he’s a breath of fresh air, I love this guy.”
Now, it’s obviously meant to be a compliment, but you can see why the Leeds fans below are upset with what he said.
In our view, we don’t really understand Sherwood’s remark, which suggests that Leeds would’ve gone down if their players weren’t extremely fit.

At the time of promotion, Leeds had an England international in Kalvin Phillips and a 16-goal striker in Patrick Bamford.
Bielsa also had the PFA Player of the Year in Luke Ayling at right-back.
Since then, Victor Orta has added Diego Llorente and Robin Koch, both of whom are regulars for Spain and Germany respectively.

Leeds also signed Raphinha, who we think will become world class very, very soon, and another Spain international in Rodrigo.
To question the quality of Bielsa’s squad is a strange thing to do, to say the least.
Let’s see what the Leeds fans on Twitter have been saying about Sherwood’s comments…
