Arsenal had a brilliant last five games of the Premier League season, it has to be said.

The Gunners won all of their domestic games during the month of May – and also beat Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Considering the Blues will contest the Champions League final tonight, Arsenal did particularly well on that occasion.

But the North Londoners’ form wasn’t enough to land Mikel Arteta a manager of the month award.

The Premier League announced today that Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp – who also oversaw five victories in May – scooped the prize.

Here’s how some Arsenal fans reacted on Twitter:

Deserved?

Arsenal fans may not agree, but the Liverpool boss probably was the worthy winner.

There was much more pressure on the Anfield club in all of their five victories – including a 4-2 win away to Manchester United.

It wouldn’t be right to say all of the Gunners’ games were free hits but really, they went into the games in the knowledge they had an outside chance of getting a Europa League spot.

Liverpool, on the other hand, knew they had to win to get Champions League qualification and all things considered, the Reds’ five-game streak is that bit more impressive.
