Matt Holland has given his verdict on the performance of Liverpool forward Diogo Jota against Brentford on Saturday.

The former Bournemouth and Ipswich Town midfielder was impressed by the role that Jota played in Darwin Nunez’s goal.

So, what has Matt Holland said about Liverpool forward Diogo Jota? Let’s take a look.

Praise for Liverpool forward Diogo Jota vs Brentford

Well, Liverpool got the better of Brentford away from home in the Premier League on Saturday.

Pundits expected Liverpool to pick up all three points from the match in London, and Jurgen Klopp’s side did not have any problem getting the job done.

Darwin Nunez, who is rated highly by talkSPORT pundit Jason Cundy, scored the opening goal for Liverpool. It came in the 35th minute. Diogo Jota provided the assist.

The £41 million (BBC Sport) Portugal international forward found Nunez with a glancing header, and Premier League pundit Matt Holland was hugely impressed.

Jota could not finish the first half. The former Wolverhampton Wanderers forward was taken off on a stretcher after Christian Norgaard fell on his knee.

Holland said on PremierLeagueProductions: “In the blink of an eye, Liverpool go from one end of the pitch to the other.

“Virgil van Dijk just launches one with the clearance and Diogo Jota, this is brilliant.

“The awareness to pick out Darwin Nunez with that header and what a finish. He manages to get it up and over the goalkeeper – a top-class goal.”

My View: Diogo Jota a big player for Liverpool

In my opinion, Diogo Jota is one of the best and most important players for Liverpool.

While the forward may not always start, he always delivers when called upon. Jota is a very reliable player who can be expected to do a job when asked to.

During the absence of Mohamed Salah, Jota scored some important goals. He stepped up.

Liverpool fans will hope that Jota’s injury against Brentford is not serious. The Reds need him in their quest to win the Premier League title this season.
