Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after Jose Mourinho revealed that Son Heung-min will be out for a while after suffering a hamstring injury against Newcastle.

Sky Sports quote the ex-Chelsea boss as saying: ‘It’s an injury. We’ll have him out for a while. It’s his hamstring.’

The South Korean was forced to leave the field at half-time against the Magpies, who went on to snatch a controversial late equaliser.

The bitter news comes at a terrible time for Spurs, who have six games left to play until the end of October.

Alarmingly, they have already played five matches this season in what has been a hugely congested schedule for the north Londoners.

It goes without saying that Son’s injury will come as a major blow.

It was as recently as September 20th that the former Bayer Leverkusen man scored four goals in one game against Southampton.

His absence will be sorely felt, given Tottenham’s lack of attacking options.

Mourinho himself has openly said that he wants a striker, and has also said that those above him at Tottenham know that and also want a striker.

Sky Sports quote the Portuguese as saying: ‘I want a striker. But I want to make it very clear that the club – if you want to call it the club or the structure above me – knows I need a striker and they also want a striker.’

Harry Kane is the club’s only out-and-out centre-forward, while the likes of Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn are versatile options.

Let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about Son’s injury…
