Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after Harry Kane shared a somewhat scathing analysis of his teammates with Gary Neville.

Speaking on The Overlap, Tottenham’s No.10 said: “José obviously expected us to be men and act like men on the pitch, to have leaders on the pitch and to be honest, that’s probably where it didn’t quite work out with Jose, we didn’t quite have enough leadership that we needed.”

Now, that is pretty telling from the 27-year-old.

As one fan below states, Spurs have many players who are captain of their country.

Hugo Lloris leads France, Heung-min Son captains South Korea, and Gareth Bale captains Wales.

Serge Aurier has also worn the armband for the Ivory Coast before.

On paper, it looks like Spurs have many a leader, which makes what Kane said pretty worrying.

Are these players simply choosing not to step up for Tottenham, when we’ve seen they can do it on the international stage?

Kane is a big presence at Tottenham, so for him to be calling out his teammates like this really does speak volumes.

You could also argue that he’s on José Mourinho’s side after reading these comments.

It sounds as if Kane is blaming his teammates for not stepping up to Mourinho’s demands, rather than it being a case of the Portuguese coach failing his players.

In our view, Kane really is speaking like he’s not going back to Spurs.

Of course, it’s obvious that he wants to leave, and he may feel he needs to force the issue in the media given Daniel Levy’s stubborn nature.

However, if an exit doesn’t materialise, Kane may have now alienated some of his teammates back at Hotspur Way with these comments.

Fair play for him to speaking his mind, as not enough footballers do that.

Having said that, we wouldn’t be surprised if some of his teammates now give him the cold shoulder after he called them out.

Let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about Kane’s comments…
