Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after hearing that Ozan Kabak had said his goodbyes and moved out of his home in Formby.
The Reds have decided not to activate their option to buy the centre-back for £18 million, and he will now return to Schalke 04.
It’s certainly sad to see the 21-year-old leave Anfield, as he was largely brilliant after arriving on loan in January.
The 10-cap Turkey international made nine appearances in the Premier League and four in the Champions League.
In those outings, Kabak looked composed on the ball, dominant in the air and strong in the tackle.
To walk into one of Europe’s biggest clubs as a 21-year-old, and be tasked with filling in for Virgil van Dijk, is a pretty significant job.
However, Kabak looked like he’d been playing at Anfield for years, such was the seamless nature in which he settled in to life on Merseyside.

Why didn’t Liverpool keep Ozan Kabak?
With Van Dijk, Joël Matip and Joe Gomez set to return in time for next season, Klopp decided not to sign Kabak permanently.
The German also has Nat Phillips, while Liverpool announced the signing of Ibrahima Konaté from RB Leipzig yesterday too.
Klopp also has Ben Davies and Rhys Williams.
In that respect, there are too many centre-backs at Anfield for it to be worth paying £18 million to sign Kabak.

Of course, you might argue that Liverpool could suffer another injury crisis in defence next season, and need Kabak as depth.
However, that’s too risky. If nobody gets injured, Liverpool will have wasted £18 million, and the Turkish defender’s development will be impacted too.
Let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about Kabak moving out of his home and saying goodbye…
