Some Liverpool fans on social media have been reacting after the club announced that Harvey Elliott has withdrawn from the England U21s squad after picking up an injury.

Liverpool fans know all about injury problems. After all, they had a crisis at centre-back last season, and it seems as though they’re on the brink of another disaster.

Indeed, Elliott joins the likes of Takumi Minamino and Roberto Firmino on the injury list, meaning that there is a distinct lack of depth in the attacking positions.

All it takes is for an injury to Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane or Diogo Jota and the Reds would be in serious trouble.

Of course, we have to hope that no injuries occur to the Reds’ three main attackers, but as ever, these things are impossible to predict.

It has to be said that the Reds have had a lot of bad luck on the injury front in recent months, but fans believe there is more to their problems than just bad luck.

The Anfield faithful were quick to point the finger at FSG for not making enough signings this summer, and we have to agree that the club has been sold short by the lack of investment.

Here’s what Liverpool supporters have been saying on social media…
