Liverpool fans were delighted after the club announced that Harvey Elliott was back in training yesterday.
What’s the story?
Elliott has been recovering from an ankle injury and he has made it back ahead of schedule.
The youngster was snapped at the AXA Training Centre, as Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool’s coaching staff put him through his paces.
Elliott was only back in light training, so was not part of the main group drills.
But the fact he is now back jogging on grass suggests that he is edging closer to a comeback.
And Liverpool fans were delighted to see the wonderkid clearly getting closer to making a return.
Big news
The delight among Liverpool fans at Elliott’s comeback shows just how well he has performed when included in the first team.
The teenager’s injury actually came at just the wrong time for him.
Elliott seemed to be cementing his place in Liverpool’s line-up before injury sidelined him.
The hope is that his time out of the team won’t have disrupted his momentum too much.
Elliott has an ability which is far beyond his tender years, and he could have an important role to play in Liverpool’s midfield when he does return to full fitness.
