Jose Enrique has posted on Twitter that Mason Mount ‘talks a lot’ after he insisted Chelsea want ‘payback’ ahead of their FA Cup final showdown against Liverpool.
Liverpool beat Chelsea in the League Cup final in February when Jurgen Klopp’s side won a pulsating penalty shootout at Wembley.
Added with that, this is Chelsea’s third FA Cup final on the trot – previously losing to Arsenal and Leicester City.
There will clearly be some element of pain in that Stamford Bridge dressing room and the players wanting to turn previous hurt into joy.
It’s probably why Mount has come out firing and being insistent on his team getting revenge when they lock horns with Liverpool for a second time.
But, ex-Reds left-back Enrique, responded to the Chelsea 23-year-old’s comments and he feels Mount has too much to say.
It’s going to be interesting what frame of mind Liverpool are going to be in by the time they face off against Chelsea on May 14.
By then, the Reds will know whether they are in a Champions League final or not, as well as their standing in the Premier League title race.
If Liverpool have booked their Champions League final ticket and are perhaps leading the charge in the Premier League title race.
Then, this talk of them winning the quadruple or the treble will only ramp up in and around that FA Cup final.
But, either way, this is a great chance for Chelsea to overcome recent heartache in finals and get one over on their rivals.
