Michael Owen has raved about Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah after his ‘absolutely brilliant’ goal during his side’s win over West Ham United on Boxing Day.
Mikel Arteta will be breathing a little easier because of Nketiah’s performance and goal, with Owen claiming that ’this guy can finish’.
With Gabriel Jesus injured for the long-term, these recent few weeks put a lot of spotlight and pressure on Nketiah, as well as talk about who the club will sign during the January transfer window.

Now, a new face might still need to be added because the current Premier League leaders can’t go several months with just Nketiah leading the line, especially if Jesus is out for a long while.
But until then, Nketiah is making himself known and Owen is liking what he is seeing from the 23-year-old, as he told Premier League Productions (26/12/22 at 10:05 pm).
“He’s a very good finisher and I thought his goal was absolutely brilliant the way he rolled his man,” said Owen. “But he is all about goals, whereas Jesus helps the team, even if he’s not scoring. I think Nketiah is very much a goalscorer and it will help his confidence.
“Good attitude. When he gets in that position, we said before the game, this guy can finish. This guy does finish. He is a born finisher. You can see, you can just tell in front of goal. He just looks like a finisher. He is calm and he is collected.
“His goal was absolutely brilliant, I love the way he felt for his man. I wasn’t a player that did that. I didn’t want to get into a tussle with the centre-back because I wasn’t strong enough. But he just felt where he was, he knew where he was and I just thought it was a brilliant goal. He’s gone for power, yes, but a lot of accuracy as well, and it’s a really good finish.”

NKETIAH TALKING ON THE PITCH
That’s all the Hale-End star can do and if he continues to produce the goods, then it will seriously increase Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League title.
Nketiah has been at Arsenal all his life, he has been waiting for that opportunity to shine and showcase his worth in the colours of his boyhood club.
He has had chances, mainly in cup competitions, but not regularly enough in the Premier League.
Well, now he is going to have a spate of starts and this is where he shows the world that he has taken his game to another level and he is ready to be labelled as a top-class Premier League striker.
