Some Newcastle United fans on social media have been reacting after it was reported that they’ve had a bid rejected for Dan Burn.

What’s the story with Burn?

Sven Botman, Diego Carlos and Dan Burn, what do all of these players have in common?

They’re all centre-backs that Newcastle have had bids rejected for this month.

The Magpies have been trying so hard to bolster their defence in January, but as of yet, they’ve failed in their pursuit of a new centre-half.

United don’t have long to go in this window, and their latest pursuit of Burn has also been knocked back.

Where to go from here?

With all due respect to Dan Burn, he’s a downgrade on Carlos and Botman, so where do Newcastle go from here?

The Magpies started out looking at one of the brightest young defenders on the planet in Botman, then they went for a proven Champions League player in Carlos.

Now, they’ve gone for a mid-table Premier League centre-half, but even then, they’ve been unable to have a bid accepted.

Transfer negotiations are about so much more than how much money you can offer, and sadly, Newcastle are learning that the hard way.

Where do they go from here? Well, that remains to be seen.
