Tottenham fans saw more of Dele Alli on his Instagram live on Monday night than they have done on the pitch during these past few months.
Celebrating his 25th birthday, and the country coming out of lockdown, the seemingly discarded Tottenham man had a number of things to say.
From ensuring fans that he is hurting about Tottenham’s most recent Premier League defeat to praising youngster, Alfie Devine.
On the Tottenham academy product, Alli told his Instagram followers that the highly-rated teenager is a ‘very good player’.
Alli knows what it’s like to have the spotlight on you from a young age and Devine might find that light shines bright on him if he continues down his current path.
The 16-year-old has made one senior appearance for Spurs, scoring on his debut in the FA Cup against non-league side, Marine.
Whilst more senior minutes won’t come this season, the attack-minded midfielder will be hoping it starts to add up during these coming seasons.
Until then, Alli will be hoping his minutes do increase out on the pitch because if he doesn’t end up out of the exit door this summer, given his current situation, then it would be a surprise.
Here is a selection of Spurs fans reacting to Alli’s comments:
