Mahmoud Dahoud could be the player to take Tottenham Hotspur to the next level.
The future of Borussia Monchengladbach’s highly-rated midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud is still up in the air, with both Liverpool are Borussia Dortmund thought to hold strong interest in the talented youngster (the Guardian).
With no formal bids being made as yet, Spurs should consider entering the race for the 20-year-old.
Dahoud has the potential to be one of the best players in the world, and although he still has plenty of room to improve, he is certainly not one of those raw youngsters who is not ready to compete at the highest level.
Quite the opposite in fact.

He has incredible maturity for his age, is very powerful, and has technical ability that can be matched by few in the game.
He could potentially be the missing piece of the jigsaw for Tottenham, and is the kind of player who could take them to the next level, with his flair, creativity and all-round quality.
The Monchengladbach star can play in a central midfield role, from where he can dictate the tempo of the game and utilise his fantastic range of passing, or in a number 10 role, where he can have a more direct influence on his side’s attacking play.
Despite Dahoud’s incredible ability, there will still be Spurs fans who would prefer their club to buy a more ‘ready-made’ player to help take them forward.

But don’t be fooled by the Germany under-21 international’s age. It is just a number. He plays with the spirit and conviction of a seasoned veteran, but with the legs of a young Steven Gerrard.
He has the heart of a warrior and a touch that has drawn comparisons with Zinedine Zidane.
And bringing Dahoud to White Hart Lane could be the basis from which Mauricio Pochettino builds his legacy at Tottenham.
