Charlie Adam has hinted that he may be interested in replacing his former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard as Rangers manager.
The 41-year-old quit his role as Rangers boss this morning to become Dean Smith’s successor at Aston Villa.
Now the big question is who is going to replace the Liverpool icon at Ibrox.
There isn’t a lot of names out there, illustrating that the Gers are in the earliest stages of finding a new head coach.
But former Rangers midfielder Adam has intimated that he may well be up for it.
Asked by Jim White whether he’d be game, Adam, who is playing for Dundee at the moment, told talkSPORT: “In football, you know things change quickly, I am still playing but you can never rule anything out.
“Coaching is something I’m looking forward to doing when I do finish and do retire.”

Still only 35, Adam spent a year of his career playing alongside Gerrard at Anfield.
It might seem a ridiculous notion of him replacing Gerrard at Rangers.
But it’s worth pointing out that the new Aston Villa boss had zero experience in terms of senior management when the light Blues hired him back in 2018.
Rangers took what can only be described as a leap of faith and it paid off in a big way.
Does that mean they’re going to do the same thing again?
Of course not, but Adam’s lack of experience shouldn’t automatically rule him out if he does indeed put himself forward in an official capacity.
