Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain joined Liverpool from Arsenal in the summer of 2017.

Thierry Henry raved about the recent form of Liverpool’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, when writing his column for Sky Sports, and explained why Arsene Wenger failed to extract the best out of the 24-year-old during his time at Arsenal.
The 24-year-old left the Gunners for Anfield in the summer of 2017, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £35 million, and he has impressed during his time on Merseyside, chipping in with three goals and five assists in the Premier League so far this season.

Oxlade-Chamberlain was utilised in a variety of different positions during his time at the Emirates, but has been mostly deployed in a central midfield role at Liverpool, and he has really showcased his dynamism for Jürgen Klopp’s side.
Henry, who scored a club record 228 goals for the Gunners, explained how Klopp has extracted the best out of the England international by playing him consistently in the same position, when writing a column for Sky Sports:

“More often than not Klopp uses him in central midfield because of Liverpool’s amazing front three. Oxlade-Chamberlain knows where he is playing and what he has to do week in, week out. We can now see the player he can become at Liverpool. The potential was always there. Now, he is playing magnificently well. If he continues at his current ratio of goals and assists, he will go past the ratio he achieved at Arsenal so easily. He is a different player from the one we saw at the Gunners and the Arsenal fans would have loved to have seen this Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at the Emirates Stadium.”
The Ox’s switch from London to Merseyside is now looking like an extremely shrewd one.
Liverpool are currently sitting comfortably in third place in the Premier League table, whilst Arsenal are languishing down in sixth position.
The Reds are also on course to progress through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, and Wenger will surely be rueing the fact that he failed to get the best out of the 24-year-old Englishman during his time in north London.
