Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has told Sky Sports that he understands why Eddie Howe is being suggested as a replacement for Arsene Wenger.
Wenger is in the final year of his current deal at the Emirates and all suggestion have been that he will bring his long reign to an end at the end of the campaign.
The club is likely drawing up a potential list of replacements should that happen and a report from the Daily Star last month suggested the Bournemouth boss was on that list.

Those reports resurfaced this week, and Henry says he understands why the Cherries manager is being suggested as a candidate.
“I understand why there is talk of Arsenal because he looks like he is going to fit the bill with his identity and philosophy,” he told Sky Sports.

It is certainly easy to see why Howe would be considered as a replacement for Wenger given the very similar style and philosophy they share.
However, it is debatable whether the club would be willing to take a risk on a homegrown manager given the manner in which David Moyes struggled at Manchester United.
That is likely to have scared the Gunners hierarchy and could see them target a bigger name, such as Diego Simeone, to replace Wenger instead.
