Tottenham Hotspur go into Sunday’s game with Everton with an opportunity to close the gap at the top of the Premier League to seven points.

Thierry Henry has told The Sun that, as an Arsenal fan, he is starting to worry about Tottenham’s potential, and disclosed how many quality players they probably still need.

Over the last couple of seasons, Mauricio Pochettino’s men have elevated themselves away from the European chasers and into top four contenders who are occasionally threatening to push for the title.

Last season, they were the last team to fall as Leicester claimed the trophy, and this term, they are currently second in the table and have an opportunity to move within seven points of leaders Chelsea should they beat Everton on Sunday.

With Arsenal now fifth and possibly in danger of falling six points back of Spurs should they beat the Toffees, Henry has now conceded that the Gunners can not afford to take their bitter rivals lightly, especially as they are just a handful of talented players away from something special in his eyes.

“Spurs are solid, a tight-knit unit with good togetherness and cohesion. But I would say the strength in depth is not there yet. They need about four more quality players,” he told The Sun.

“If Harry Kane is not playing, they miss him badly. Heung-Min Son did well at the start of the season while Vincent Janssen has not quite been up to it.

“They are not far off. That’s what worries me — Tottenham are finally getting it right.”

Looking at every team’s strongest lineup, it is difficult to find one particularly stronger than Tottenham’s this season. But, as soon as injuries and poor form become factors, it is fair to say that Spurs generally do not boast the same level of depth as some of their rivals do beyond their strongest team.

But if they can enjoy an excellent summer transfer window, then perhaps Henry’s worst fears will be realised and Arsenal will be the ones having to do the chasing.
