Thierry Henry has claimed that ‘the whole country’ wants Son Heung-min to do well at Tottenham Hotspur and that he is someone loved by all, as he told Amazon Prime Sport.

The Arsenal legend added that he ‘loves’ Son as a player, and when he recently ended his goal drought, he admits that he ‘celebrated’.

That came before the international break, when after a slow start, Son ripped struggling Leicester City apart with a stunning hat-trick from the bench.

Since then, the 30-year-old has blown hot and cold as he tries to search for that much-needed consistency in his game.

That was proven on Wednesday night when Spurs suffered a 2-0 defeat at Manchester United to leave them four points behind Premier League leaders, Arsenal.

Nonetheless, when talking about Son as a player and a character, the South Korean star has a fan in the form of one of the Premier League’s greatest-ever.

“I love him, I love him,” said Henry. “I want to have a word about him because I think he’s the only player, I wouldn’t say only, but one of the few players, who has played in the Premier League that I think the whole country wants him to do well.

“When he was having that bad spell, not scoring goals. I celebrated his goal, not the Tottenham goal. I celebrated his goal.

“Joking aside, everyone loves Son. There is something weird to have. Even the opposition fans will have some sympathy for him and that speaks volumes about who he is and how he is and what he represents. He’s just a nice guy.”

100 PREMIER LEAGUE GOALS UPCOMING…

Son is just four away from joining many other great Tottenham players to that record milestone and he might just do it before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

He needs four more goals, then he has reached his century and he will join the likes of Teddy Sheringham, Jermain Defoe and Harry Kane on that list.

Yes, some would point towards how the versatile forward is still out of touch, as he proved at Old Trafford last night.

But, he has also shown, that he’s probably going to reach that milestone in one game because, he’s either not scoring at all, or taking home the match ball.
