Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane continues to impress.
Speaking live on Monday Night Football Special on Sky Sports at 19:43 on January 16th, Arsenal legend Thierry Henry offered his opinion on whether or not Spurs striker Harry Kane can break Alan Shearer’s record of 260 Premier League goals.
The Tottenham man has scored 62 goals in 102 league appearances for his club so far – 18 short of the mark that Shearer was at at the same stage in his career.
And Henry, who scored 175 Premier League goals himself for the Gunners, backed the 23-year-old to achieve history by surpassing the former Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers man.

Responding to a question asking him if he believes Kane can better Shearer’s record, Henry told Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football programme:
“I think he can do it. Why not? Yes it is possible. Everything that happens in his life from now on has to be right in order for him to beat Alan Shearer. But, it is doable and I think he can do it.”
The England international’s importance to Spurs was highlighted when he was sidelined for six weeks with an injury earlier on this season.

And it has been no coincidence that Tottenham’s form has dramatically improved since his return.
If Kane can continue in this vein of form, Mauricio Pochettino’s men have every chance of bettering last season’s third place finish, and winning the Premier League title.
