Tottenham Hotspur fans are hopeful of new signings in January, but it may take certain players to be sold for incomings to arrive.

The Daily Mail report that some players could move on, noting that Monaco want to snap up midfielder Mousa Dembele, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

Dembele isn’t the only Spurs player linked with a move to join Thierry Henry at Monaco, as France Football report that they also want to land winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou.

Offloading both players could help Spurs in January, but they should be looking to use the duo in a potential swap deal for midfielder Youri Tielemans.

The Daily Mail recently noted that Spurs had a summer interest in signing Tielemans, but Monaco weren’t for selling the young Belgian ace.

Now though, with Monaco not only interested in two Spurs players but also struggling at the wrong end of the Ligue 1 table and out of the Champions League, it could be an ideal time for Spurs to launch a January move.

Spurs need at least one midfielder, and Tielemans – a youngster with a great passing range – would be ideal for the post-Dembele world for Spurs.

Offering up Dembele and Nkoudou in a potential deal for Tielemans could help tempt Monaco into a deal, and it’s certainly worth exploring for Mauricio Pochettino and co.
