Roberto Martinez is under pressure at Everton at the moment.
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry praised Everton manager Roberto Martinez for staying true to his philosophy on the Sky Sports Now show on Sky Sports News HQ on Friday morning (broadcast from 10am, April 22).
“One of the most important things for me with Martinez is I love the fact that he doesn’t lose his identity and his philosophy,” said the former Arsenal striker.
Martinez is a very attack-minded manager, and even during Everton’s disappointing Premier League campaign, he has not changed his playing style.
The problem is that the Toffees have been conceding far too many goals this season, and the Spaniard has not figured out a way to stop that from happening.
The former Wigan Athletic manager has come under pressure this season, although he could alleviate some of that by guiding Everton to the final of the FA Cup.
The Merseyside outfit will take on Premier League rivals Manchester United in the semi-finals of the prestigious cup competition at the Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday evening.
United will head into the tie as favourites, but Everton do have a team strong enough to push Louis van Gaal’s side.
