Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Crystal Palace players picked out by Gunners great Thierry Henry.
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has told The Sun of his admiration for six players in the Premier League who he considers the most exciting to watch.
Citing their direct play and willingness to take opponents on, the pundit picked out two Crystal Palace wingers, two from Arsenal, and one high profile name each from Chelsea and and Liverpool.
He said: “I love the two guys at Crystal Palace, Yannick Bolasie and Wilfried Zaha. It is great to see a team giving two players the chance to express themselves and they are both doing really well.
“Chelsea’s Eden Hazard is not afraid to beat players and the same goes for Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal.
“There are not many, though, which is why it is encouraging to see Sterling progress at Liverpool. I like him because he does not back down from the one-on-one fight.”
Who is the most prolific of the six?
| Team | Dribbles Won per game | Dribbles Attempted per game | Beating A Player Accuracy | Assists | Goals from Open Play | Appearances | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Eden Hazard | Chelsea | 4.78 | 7.31 | 61.94 | 8 | 9 | 32 |
| Alexis Sánchez | Arsenal | 3.52 | 5.9 | 53.4 | 8 | 13 | 29 |
| Raheem Sterling | Liverpool | 3.1 | 5.9 | 47.69 | 7 | 7 | 30 |
| Wilfried Zaha | C. Palace | 2.62 | 6.35 | 37.57 | 2 | 2 | 26 |
| Yannick Bolasie | C. Palace | 2.55 | 6.1 | 37.56 | 6 | 4 | 29 |
| Danny Welbeck | Arsenal | 1.54 | 2.65 | 50 | 3 | 4 | 26 |
Chelsea star Eden Hazard attempts and succeeds in more dribbles per game than any of the other five players. His success rate of almost 62 per cent also shows him to be the most efficient.
Palace wingers Zaha and Bolasie succeed in just 37% each of their dribbling attempts. Given that they each attempt on average just one less dribble per game than the Belgian, this is a clear area to work on if aiming to kick on with their recent strong performances.
A player not picked out by Henry, is mid-season Aston Villa signing Carles Gil, who has impressed in his limited appearances. In only five games this season he has been more efficient than Hazard, winning 69 per cent of those he has attempted.
| Team | Won Dribbles per game | Dribbles attempted per game | Beating A Player Accuracy | Assists | Goals from Open Play | Appearances | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Carles Gil | Aston Villa | 3.6 | 5.2 | 69.23 | 1 | 0 | 5 |
