Premier League legend said Dembele owed it to Celtic to stay.
France legend Thierry Henry has backed Moussa Dembele’s decision to stay at Celtic.
Chelsea were linked with making a £30 million move, The Guardian reported, but Celtic and Dembele never entertained the prospect of a mid-season transfer.

Speaking to SkySports News HQ’s deadline day coverage at 12pm, Henry said: “By going to Celtic he has shown everybody what a good player he is.
“He has to finish the season [there]. He must respect the fans and the staff. It was a big mistake by Premier League teams [not to sign him].”
Celtic’s Moussa Dembele scores their third goal
Dembele, 20, gave Celtic fans a minor scare when he flew to London early yesterday, but it was only for a scan on a minor injury, and he returned to Glasgow later in the day.
£30 million would have been a good price for Dembele, but Celtic will still surely be able to demand this sort of fee in the summer, and holding onto the striker is a good sign for the future, signifying that they are not simply a selling club.
